Free Summer Meals Available Across Maryland; Offering Weekly Meal Boxes

As schools across Maryland close for the summer, a variety of free meal programs are launching to ensure children continue to have access to nutritious food. According to state officials, free summer meals are available to children regardless of income, and students do not need to be enrolled in a particular school system to participate.

Locally, Bnos Yisroel  with Summer Meals To-Go program, will be providing weekly drive-thru pickup boxes containing 7 breakfasts and 7 lunches per child.

Registration is required and only needs to be completed once for the entire summer. Children do not need to be present at pickup.

Pickup Locations:

Helping Hands
Tuesdays
4:00 PM – 7:00 PM
3237 Level Road, Churchville, MD 21028

Lifepoint
Wednesdays
4:00 PM – 7:00 PM
1701 Emory Road, Reisterstown, MD 21136

As per USDA guidelines, each child may only receive one set of meals per day, and only one weekly box per child may be picked up across all participating USDA sites.

With food costs continuing to strain many families, programs like these help ensure children have access to healthy meals throughout the summer months.
