Balti-MORE Fraud Uncovered…
Baltimore’s Inspector General has uncovered alleged fraud tied to the city’s now-defunct SideStep juvenile diversion program, which was run through the Mayor’s Office of Neighborhood Safety and Engagement (MONSE).
According to the report: • At least two organizations are accused of submitting fraudulent or inflated invoices, potentially costing taxpayers hundreds of thousands of dollars
• One organization allegedly altered invoices to receive larger payments
• Another could not provide records to support several invoices
💰 The city paid roughly $694,000 to these groups, though the total impact may be higher
