Following reports from multiple Baltimore Scoop followers regarding an employee at the Royal Farms on Smith Avenue & Pimlico Road, Baltimore Scoop reached out directly to the store’s owner to share the concerns.

The concerns included reports that an employee was engaging customers, including teenagers, in conversations about the Israel-Gaza conflict while they were checking out, as well as reports that the employee was wearing a “Free Gaza” label on his name tag while working.

The owner responded promptly, informing us that the matter was already being reviewed.

We have since also received a response from Royal Farms’ Employee Relations department, which stated in part:

“Royal Farms is committed to maintaining a welcoming and professional environment for all customers and employees. We do not permit employees to engage customers in discussions regarding personal political views while performing their job duties, nor do we condone behavior that could make customers feel uncomfortable or unwelcome.”

The company added that it has forwarded the matter for review and that appropriate action will be taken in accordance with its policies and procedures.
