A Safe Streets violence intervention worker has been charged in connection with a shooting that occurred Sunday in the 4400 block of Park Heights Avenue.

According to authorities, Antoine Burton, who worked at the Safe Streets Belvedere site, was arrested following the shooting. The victim suffered non-life-threatening injuries and is expected to recover.

Safe Streets is a city-funded violence prevention program that employs community members to help mediate conflicts and reduce gun violence in Baltimore neighborhoods.
