Maryland has now reported 50 heat-related deaths this season, surpassing the previous record of 46 set in 2012. Health officials say most victims were older adults, with nearly two-thirds age 65 or older.  There have been 1,300 trips taken to urgent care or the emergency room for heat-related illnesses.
