A well-known mixed-use building at 1001-03 W. 36th Street in the heart of Hampden is headed to auction later this month.

The three-story property, located at the corner of The Avenue and Roland Avenue, is home to Ma Petite Shoe and Transmission Tattoo, with two floors of live/work space above the retail shops.

The online auction will open July 24 and close July 29, with an opening bid of $650,000. According to the auction listing, the property has the potential to generate more than $143,000 in annual rental income and requires a $15,000 deposit to bid.

Built in 1920, the building was once home to Cavacos Apothecary & Pharmacy, a longtime neighborhood business.

The auction comes during a period of change for Hampden, following several recent business closures in the area, including Dangerously Delicious Pies, Wishbone Reserve, and Maillard Patisserie.
