Today, The New Shul provided an update on the search process for its next Rabbi.
According to a message sent by the Shul president, the shul’s selection process reached an unexpected situation where no candidate advanced to the next round. After consulting with Daas Torah, the recommendation was to hold a final confirmation vote rather than have a Rabbi selected by default. The goal, the shul says, is to ensure that its next Rav has strong backing and excitement from the community. The shul added that it is still awaiting guidance regarding how the final vote will be conducted and what threshold of support will be required before moving forward.
The New Shul is the latest Shul addition to our community and It is currently located at 6209 Greenspring Ave.
Interestingly, since its founding, other new shuls have opened in the Baltimore area, making its name a little less unique than when it first started. With a new Rav potentially on the way, could a new name be next as well?
