I went with my family today to Fleet Week / Sail250. There were tons of people, and overall it was a great event to see Baltimore so alive and full of energy.

That said, it really felt like the city wasn’t fully prepared for the crowds.

The nearby bathrooms had massive lines, multiple toilets were out of order, and many stalls didn’t even have functioning locks. There were no clear maps showing where events, attractions, or vendors were located.

I also spoke to several people who waited hours in food lines, only to find out vendors had run out of food.

Baltimore had a real opportunity to make the most of a major tourist event, and while the turnout was impressive, the planning and logistics seemed to fall short.

Great event overall, but definitely a good amount of chaos that could have been avoided with better preparation.
