A single case of measles has been confirmed at FASTMED Urgent Care, located at 2827 Smith Ave in Baltimore.

Health officials report that appropriate infection control measures were immediately implemented. Individuals who may have been exposed during the relevant time period have already been directly contacted and provided with guidance.

Measles is a highly contagious viral illness that spreads through the air when an infected person coughs or sneezes. Early symptoms typically include fever, runny nose, cough, and red eyes, followed by a characteristic rash that usually appears a few days later. Symptoms may develop anywhere from 7 to 21 days after exposure.

FASTMED Urgent Care remains fully operational and continues to assist patients with questions, evaluations, and vaccinations as needed. The clinic is also actively working with public health officials to obtain adult measles vaccine doses to ensure broader access for the community.
