Maryland’s annual tax-free week will take place from August 9 through August 15, allowing shoppers to purchase qualifying clothing and footwear under $100 per item without paying the state’s 6% sales tax.

The first $40 of a backpack or bookbag purchase is also exempt from sales tax during the week.
