Baltimore County Police 4th Precinct Captain Hanley and Officer Smith met Thursday morning with local business and community leaders at Market Maven Supermarket on Reisterstown Road to discuss safety and security amid a recent rise in crime incidents, including shoplifting.

Joining the meeting were Pikesville Improvement Corporation President Don Brody and Market Maven General Manager Eli Siegel.

Captain Hanley stressed the importance of personal safety and situational awareness, urging residents and employees to call 911 when witnessing crime-related activity rather than attempting to intervene themselves.

Siegel called the meeting “very productive and informative,” saying Market Maven is already working to implement new procedures and security adjustments.

“We’re grateful to partner with local law enforcement and look forward to continuing to provide a safe and pleasant shopping experience for everyone,” Siegel said.
