The driver of the Land Rover Defender that went viral after being found parked partly on a sidewalk and against a tree in Annapolis has now been identified.

FOX45’s Spotlight on Maryland reports it has confirmed that Maryland State Sen. C. Anthony Muse (D-District 26) was driving the SUV during Monday night’s incident.

Muse has claimed that before ending up against the tree, he struck the mirror of a parked vehicle nearby.

Surveillance footage obtained by FOX45 reportedly shows Muse spending nearly five minutes maneuvering the SUV before parking it against the tree. He then exited the vehicle and walked away.

Police later arrived at the scene, and the SUV was eventually driven away by another person. Muse received a $100 parking citation.
