Baltimore activist Dayvon Love is publicly defending former Judge Jill P. Carter after widespread backlash over comments in which Carter accused the Jewish community of controlling the media and politics in Northwest Baltimore.

In a lengthy social media post, Love dismissed concerns about antisemitism as “baseless political attacks” and claimed that Jews “use the charge of antisemitism to avoid accountability.” He also accused Carter’s critics of pretending to be victims of hate.

Love’s defense of Carter comes as he is actively involved in Malcolm Ruff’s campaign. The controversy follows separate allegations that Ruff campaign staffers were captured on video removing or destroying political signs belonging to State Senator Dalya Attar.
