After reviewing the Inspector General’s report, Councilman Yitzy Schleifer says his concerns over $2 million in COVID relief funds used for Artscape have only grown stronger.

Schleifer noted the report does not identify performers by name or disclose how much each artist was paid. He also highlighted additional expenses including:
• $50,000 for the Festival Director
• $40,000 in booking fees
• VIP events, including a VIP cigar lounge

Schleifer, who says he personally supports Artscape and attends with his family, is now calling for a full itemized accounting of where every taxpayer dollar went.

As Chair of the Legislative Investigations Committee, he says the public deserves answers.
