The Maryland Public Service Commission is considering a $156 million rate increase request by BGE, which would be an $8 a month average increase beginning next year.  

Baltimore City Council President Zeke Cohen led a protest rally yesterday against the rate increase, calling BGE “a predatory monopoly.”   BGE says the rate increase is needed to “sustain a safe and reliable electric service.”
