BGE says it is preparing for a potentially active summer of extreme heat and severe storms as hurricane season officially gets underway.
According to the utility company, investments in grid modernization, new technology, and workforce training have helped improve reliability, with 2025 marking the third-lowest outage rate in BGE’s history.
BGE is urging residents to prepare now by stocking bottled water and non-perishable food, charging phones and other devices, keeping flashlights with fresh batteries available, and making backup arrangements for medications or medical equipment that require electricity.
