Baltimore Police have released body camera footage from Sunday’s fatal officer-involved shooting of 42-year-old Maurice Daniels of Millersville.

According to police, the incident began with a reported armed carjacking in Baltimore County and ended after a high-speed pursuit in the 3300 block of Clifton Avenue in West Baltimore.

Police say six officers fired more than 70 rounds after an officer believed he saw a gun inside Daniels’ vehicle. Investigators later determined the object was a BB gun.

Police Commissioner Richard Worley called the incident “tragic” and said the department’s thoughts remain with the Daniels family.
