Baltimore City Councilman Isaac Yitzy Schleifer is mourning the passing of Abigail Goldman, who served as a quiet but deeply respected force behind Baltimore City elections for more than four decades.

In a statement posted, Schleifer praised Goldman’s ethics, dedication, and years of public service, writing:

> “For 43 years, Abigail Goldman was a quiet force behind Baltimore City elections. She put in the long hours, did the difficult work, and helped make sure our elections ran as smoothly and fairly as possible.”

He added that “Baltimore City has truly lost a gem.”
