The Baltimore Board of Estimates Approved thousands of dollars of travel expenses from the Mayor’s office, including some instances such as:

– $7,400 for two staff members to attend a Shopping Center Convention in Los Vegas
– ⁠$1,600 for a staff member to attend an Atlanta Jazz Festival

Mayor Scott defended the travel for such events, saying: “Every mayor, every governor in the country is there and if we don’t want these other cities and states to eat our lunch, we have to be there.”
