In a twist of events, an alleged burglar ended up calling police after his own car was stolen.

According to the Howard County Police Department, Jalen Godard of Odenton reported his car stolen last week in Ellicott City.

Investigators say earlier that same morning, a Verizon store across Route 40 had been burglarized.

Detectives reviewed surveillance footage from inside the store, which led them to Godard, who was later arrested.
