A Baltimore Scoop follower sent us this photo that he claims he took over Camden Yards about an hour ago…

The rainbow actually first appears in the Torah after the Mabul, when Hashem showed Noach the rainbow as the sign that he would never again to destroy the world with a flood.

When seeing an actual rainbow, one recites the special bracha, “Zocher Habris, V’ne’eman Bivriso, V’kayam B’ma’amaro”  

👀 Can You Stare at It? The Gemara in Chagigah 16a teaches that one should not gaze  at a rainbow because of its association with the Kavod Hashem. One may look at it sufficiently to see it and make the bracha.

What About This Picture?

Interestingly, Rav Yitzchak Zilberstein, He cites Rav Chaim Kanievsky zt”l as ruling that there is no concern with looking at a photograph of a rainbow.
