Three Israelis were killed overnight after a small aircraft crashed in Maryland while en route from New Jersey to Montgomery County.

According to initial reports, the victims were an instructor and two flight trainees.

The aircraft went down less than 20 miles east of Washington, D.C. After an overnight search, the wreckage was discovered around 4:00 AM in a wooded area in Maryland near Scarlett Oak Terrace.

Authorities say all three occupants were found deceased inside the aircraft.

Maryland authorities and the National Transportation Safety Board are investigating the cause of the crash.

The victims’ identities have not yet been publicly released.
